Biography

James W. ("Jim") Marshall III, M.A.. Mr. Marshall received his Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology from Wheaton College and has been in practice since 1987. He is a member of the Christian Association for Psychological Studies and an Associate Member of the American Psychological Association.

Previously, Mr. Marshall served as the Michigan Head Start Handicap Services Advocate and most recently was a member of the Division of Psychology in the Department of Psychiatry, Burns Clinic Medical Center. He is an Allied Staff Member at Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey.
Jim has presented at national conferences for clinical and pastoral helping professionals on the treatment of emotional disturbances and speaks frequently in the community to promote preservation of marriage and families and the prevention of mental illness.
Jim practices from a Christian perspective but treats individuals of all faiths. He integrates cognitive, dynamic, and systems approaches and utilizes other treatments including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, Dr. Colin Ross' Trauma Model, Depth Oriented Brief Therapy and others in accord with each client's needs, and our Philosophy of Helping noted on this page.
